Even though self-driving cars are still in live testing mode at the moment, the biggest car companies are taking the concept ever more seriously, while Tesla is already leaps and bounds ahead the rest of the pack. The company recently released a video of a hardware/software test in live traffic that put all doubts to rest on whether the car's sensors are up to par with a human driver. As we can see, the self-driving software flawlessly recognized cyclists, pedestrians, signs, and objects, fom all angles and in all directions, while the "safety driver" just sat back and enjoyed the ride.
